Dead Space

Taken me a while to get into, but I’m now thoroughly enjoying Dead Space, a new EA IP crossing Resident Evil with System Shock 2, and to good effect. Could do with a better variety of icky gore-beasts to dismember but I’m only 2 hours into it – one of those games that is best in small doses. The future-gothic design is well thought out, down to the detailing on the maintenance-dude-turned-action-hero player character’s boiler suit, and apart from a bit of buggy physics implementation, the PC port is fine – although some of the menus could have done with a bit of fine-tuning. And despite all the grim, it can be a pretty game (see above).

This game does look quite interesting!
