If you play one game today, play Legend of Princess, Noitu Love creator Konjak’s beautiful 2d re-imagining of Zelda. Also, Toribash for Wii = yes.

Ffffound.com always irritates me. Despite being a mine of beautiful/quirky/interesting pictures, it’s often difficult to find any particular image’s provenance. So I’ll just leave this here.

Posted in Uncategorized on 20 January 2009 by adaptandclarifyOk, so my food photography leaves something to be desired. Rest assured, was damn tasty. Went with the Jamie recipe, very easy (no need to poach the fish) and the lemon zest freshness followed by a kick from the chilli is a taste sensation.
Currently playing Quake Live a lot – a return to railgun instagib (in browser, for free) is very welcome.
Some music: Nataly Dawn – The Big Idea (via BoingBoing), Bars and Tones, Billy Nasty’s Myspace (he’s at Media in Norwich on Friday) etc. etc.
Feeling somewhat uninspired – think its the weather. But lo! The Bloc line-up goes from strength to strength – Qbert the latest announcement.
Happy Obama Day!
Silence Broken
Posted in Uncategorized on 9 January 2009 by adaptandclarifyCan’t get enough of TV on the Radio’s new album Dear Science. I loved Return to Cookie Mountain with a passion – its sensual, lush soundscapes, Bowie on backing vocals, near-nonsense lyrics and New York straight-to-the-sexy were an antidote to the grim electro noise I was almost exclusively listening to at the time, and their third is no disappointment. Doesn’t seem like I’m being controversial either – TVotR picked up a sackful of Album of (last) Year gongs for the new one.
I was pretty depressed when I came across Sight & Sound’s Top 10 films of 2008. Used to have a subscription, but that lapsed, and I must have lost touch a bit – the only one I’d seen was Wall-E (which I loved, but isn’t the most edgy title on the list). Since then I’ve set out to remedy that. Gomorrah and There Will Be Blood were beautifully violent and relentlessly dark respectively, and with Hunger and Waltz with Bashir (BoingBoing article) still to come, it’s not letting up any time soon.
Cooking for friends this evening. Decided on a fish pie whilst dozing this morning – figure its the perfect warming comfort food for these cold evenings, but a bit out of the ordinary. Torn between Joliver’s and HFW’s recipe, but much as I hate to admit it, I think I’ll go with the former – now just to wrench myself out of the warm nest & into the cold for a fish hunt.

Proof if it was needed of the existence of life beyond earth? Article is cagy- and my limited further investigation hasn’t turned up any credible corroboration – but the idea gave me chills; gave me an idea what it would be like to know for sure.

The most beautifully twisted, unpublished “children’s” book ever made – go and read the whole thing here. The epic battle between Love & Fear is ongoing..
Hot Fix
Posted in Uncategorized on 8 December 2008 by adaptandclarifyBlog appears borked (maybe just me, or one of Chrome’s idiosyncracies) so in an attempt to re-jig, and to break up the video spam of the last few posts, here is a writing of wrongs.
Via BB, the I present the Hierarchy of Beards. Recently shaved mine off & not loving the stupid bald face look, makes me look chinless. I myself aspire to the Twin Peaks, but usually end up with a Patchy McGee.
In festival news, Bloc’s line-up is looking more and more unmissable by the day. Future Sound Of London (will they live, will they cast?), Modeselektor, Afrika Bambaataa, Lee “Crazy Painting” Perry, the aforementioned Beardyman.. not to mention the Dublime stage where Kode 9, Mad Professor, Pole, Plastician, Ed Rush & Optical will be wrecking shit.
Now, go Auditorium!
